Oasis Piano Once Owned by Bonehead to Be Auctioned in Watford

A piano previously gifted to Oasis is set to be sold at auction in Watford, with an estimated value of up to £10,000. This piano is one of four Yamaha pianos given to the band by Alan McGee, the legendary figure credited with discovering Oasis.

The online auction is scheduled for this afternoon and is being hosted by Watford-based auction house, Piano Auctions Limited, located on Sydney Road.

The piano will come with a certificate of authenticity, signed by Oasis band member Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs.

Sean McIlroy, director of Piano Auctions Ltd, shared: “As far as we know, this is the first of the four pianos given to Oasis by Alan McGee to be sold at auction. What makes it particularly special is that Bonehead, and possibly other band members, would have played elements of their songs on this very instrument. Now, Oasis fans and collectors will have the chance to play the same keys.”

Paul Arthurs, co-founder of Oasis, played a key role in the band’s success, including contributing to their debut album Definitely Maybe. He is also expected to join the band for a reunion tour next summer, marking Oasis’ first tour since their dramatic split in 2009.

The E108 walnut Yamaha piano, gifted to Arthurs by McGee in 1996, is a prized piece of Oasis history.

McIlroy also mentioned that “a few Oasis and music fans would love this piano as a Christmas present,” but warned that potential buyers will need a deep pocket, with the instrument valued between £8,000 and £10,000.
